Bolivia e-invoicing SFE update

Delaying the fourth wave of taxpayers into SFE until June 2023. 

A two-month deadline extension has been issued to the final group of taxpayers expected to sign up for Bolivia’s System De Facturacion Electronica (SFE) e-invoicing system. Instead of 1 April, they will now be required to enroll by 1 June 2023. 

4,000 companies sign up to be on the list that must utilize electronic invoices as of February 1, 2023. 

The following is a confirmed updated schedule of taxpayers enrolling in the Bolivian SFE e-invoicing or digital accounting regime: 

  • 3rd wave: February 2023 
  • 2nd wave: December 2021 
  • 1st wave: 2021 

Pre-approval government electronic invoicing. 

Beginning on December 1, 2021, Bolivia’s National Tax Service (SIN) will enforce mandatory e-invoicing SFE. Due to the COVID-19 situation, the SFE e-invoice rollout had been put on hold in May 2021. 

Effective date: 1 June 2023
